question about major requirements

edited December 2009 in General
So you know how on department websites they say "these 5 courses with a grade of C or better", does that mean a C or can it be a C minus??

I got a C minus this semester in one the mandatory classes for psyc and so I don't know now if it will count because I got a C minus.

If yours says C, then it means C.

For Crim, most courses require a grade of C- or better so it might vary depending on which department you're in.

    If a C- sufficed, then they'd say a C- or better.

Ah ok well thanks for the confirmation!!! Just means I have to take psych 201 all over again, damnit.

The confusion may come in that courses required FOR the major usually require a C or better, (though I know in chemistry it's C- or better, unless they stiffened the requirements recently) but courses NOT in the major (i.e. out of faculty courses) may sometimes need only a D or better to count towards graduation.

As in all cases like this check with your department's academic advisor, DO NOT rely solely on TalkSFU for this.

Science courses are generally, C- or better usually due to the high difficulty of the subject matter so I assume he's in Arts.
