POL 241

edited December 2009 in General
Anyone taken this in distance ed with Chris Finlay?
I decided to drop Intro to Humanities next term and take this instead... somehow I think I'm setting myself up for failure though.

I have only two days of class a week on campus, Tuesdays and Fridays.
I decided to do Distance Ed because I want more flexibility for PSYC 100 since I heard Regan is a hard prof and I would rather fulfill another POL prereq and wait and take a Writing class I'm genuinely interested in.

And since this is only my second term at SFU, will someone explain how Distance Ed works? When and where do I go and pick up my materials? Apparently I have to give a 35 dollar deposit as well, but for god knows what.

35 bucks is for the Study Guide and the red folder. It's automatically calculated into your tuition.

Anyways, you enter through the West Mall Centre then you go down all the way to the bottom level. Turn right as soon as you exit the stairs. You'll see a sign that says "Course Material Pick Up/Drop Off" or something. Just give them your name and ID# and they'll give you the stuff.

The red folder should tell you all you need to know about the course (grading, assignments, important deadline dates, etc.). Most likely, you'll have to post weekly discussions on WebCT.

Alright, that sounds easy enough. Thanks!
And apparently you can start picking it all up tomorrow, so maybe I'll go tomorrow after my Crim final.

Thanks for the help Makall. Only have to post discussions once every three weeks for the class, but the study guide and course guide are insane. At least 400 pages each. :(

When I saw it I'm sure the guy behind the counter was probably about to burst out laughing. The best way to describe the look on my face is in an emoticon:

    O_O
