Has anyone taken Psyc 201 here? With McFarland? I'm just wondering what the research project will be like. It's worth a huge part of the course grade and there are 'labs' for it every week so it sounds complicated.
Hey yea I'm studying right now for her class...final is only worth 20%!
Anyways, the class is basically about how research is done and what you have to take into consideration when doing an actual project/study. We read about ethical standards in experiments, types of variables, types of experiment designs...you get the picture. Mcfarland is very helpful if you seek her help but during lectures she kind of dances around her topic for WAY TOO LONG before she finally gets to what's important. Boring lectures.
The research project is kind of a hassle but we have to pick a topic and design an experiment that tests our hypothesis. I created surveys which I gave out to my lab, they did them I had to calculate the average score for each question, bla, bla, bla. Final research project has to be between 10-15 pages.
