I so would have taken that course if it had been offered earlier but now my Tuesdays are dedicated to Restorative Justice. Sigh.

Will you be staying in that course? If so, let me know how it is! Human trafficking is such a great topic. Wish it was offered next semester!

Since registration start on Monday, I thought it was worth making the inevitable thread.

It took me a really long time to decide, but I decided to take:
    CRIM 104
    CRIM 135
    CMNS 130W
    PSYC 100

If anyone has taken PSYC 100 with Katherine Regan, any opinions?
I had Regan last spring, I would definitely avoid her. She makes the course way harder than it needs to be and won't go over certain concepts even though they're on the midterms or final.

I have Crim 135 with you though, are you in surrey or burnaby?

Okay so maybe I'll drop that and wait and take it in Burnaby in the summer. :P
I'm taking 135 in Surrey. I'm starting CrimOne next term so all my classes are at Surrey... which is more convenient for me, since I live in Surrey.

I feel noob, but once a class is closed, is there no physical way of getting into the class?
    I wanted to take a crim ;'(

no, you can still get in, mostly from someone dropping the class after day 1.

Regan is an AMAZING TA. Sure she asks a lot (not really, it's more the course professor) but the feedback and help that she offers you is what helps you to become a better writer etc.

She doesn't even mark that hard, people just expect a cakewalk through first year courses or Cartwright courses (which she usually TAs). If you don't put in the effort then of course don't expect a good mark.

Regan by far was one of the best TAs ever, and I had her for crim 300W. If you thought she was hard for a 100 level course then stay clear of 300W.

We're talking about Katherine Regan, the Psychology professor.
You're probably thinking Reagan Carmichael or something. >_>
If she somehow TAs for Crim and teaches Psych at the same time, maybe I shouldn't worry. Regardless, I'm sticking with that class because my friends are taking it with me so we can study together and help each other if we don't understand something.

As far as I know, she only TAs and teaches psyc courses, so we might be talking about different people.

It was a difficult class mainly because she didn't make the final or the midterms so a lot of what was on the exams was barely or not mentioned at all in class.
