Need a part time job... can't decide what field

edited November 2006 in General
Supsup... I am taking the next couple of semesters off so I can work and make some money. I need some type of job where I can use my people skills and at the same time maintain a professional look. I was thinking of working in a bank or maybe doing insurance but both seem kinda redundant and common. Do you guys have any other suggestions? Exploring all options at this point.

i was a server, made lots of tip money. otherwise, the job itself is pretty shitty. I would've said bank, but seems like you've already thought about that.
i know there a lot of positions in offices that need an extra hand from students, perhaps in data entry, or filing. the job isn't too great, but you get to say you work in an office! =D

Cool, what restaurant? Being a server seems like a lot of work but I woulnd't mind if the pay was good and the restaurant was nice

Moxie's. it was always crazy busy, but time goes by really quickly when you're working as a server. a good workout in a way i guess hahaha.
try it out, and if you don't like it, well, just quit...restaurant's are so understanding since they have such high turnovers anyway.
try places like Cactus Club, Moxie's, Milestone's, or places like that. they always seem to be hiring.

Or, i just realized, how about the Hotel business? you have to have people skills, look professional, and get to meet lots of people from around the world!

You know what meesh that is reallly good idea. I think it has a lot of potential because of all the sweet contacts I could hook up with...hopefully they have some sort of supervisor position I can get my hands on. thanks :)
