make sure you dont have any conflicts first

Make sure you don't have conflicts with your other courses, and then register for the course but you'll probably have to get waitlited for the full tutorial. The just hope that spaces start to free up so you can move into a space in the class / tutorial.

i have no conflicts, but when i register, it tells me that the lecture (or tut) is full so i cannot register for the tut (or lecture).

    and theres no waitlist.

What probably happened was the lecture is full and all tutorials are suppose to be filled. But someone in one of the tutorials went to see an advisor to switch a tutorial leaving one space open in one of the tutorials and the other tutorial being over capacity.

If the lecture is full, as in 150/150 or whatever, you wont be getting in unless they allow for over capacity.

That is for your 1st question. As for your 2nd question, I am not sure how all tutorials can be full with one space open for lecture.

    Thanks.

I talked to the SIS adviser online this afternoon, and he didn't know either.
I guess I'll never find out why :S
