First Year Schedule

edited July 2009 in General
This is going to my first semester and I was wondering if I could get any student feedback on the classes I want to register for.

Ling 200- Intro to description of English grammar (Hilgendorf)
Hist 130- Modern world history (Clossey)
Arch 100- Ancient peoples and places (Jamieson)
Span 102- Introductory Spanish (Mayo-Harp)
Germ 102- Introductory German (Hein)

I'm planning to focus on linguistics and history, and wanted to take things which interested me at the start.

Let me know if you have any particular experience with teachers, classes, or if this is just a dumb schedule. I would really appreciate any input.

Thanks

    Clossey is hard )=

I'm taking Span 101 right now with Mayo-Harp -- I'm not a fan of her, but 101 is pretty easy!

That's what I've heard about Clossey. Is he so rough that I should avoid even a low level course of his?

Be prepared for LOTSSS of reading in Arch 100.
Jamieson makes you do lots of weird things. Like walk around the pond holding giant sticks as a 'ritual'.
You also get lots of quizzes.
And you hafta pinpoint stuff on maps.

It felt more like a 200-300 course than a 100. I'm saying that he's hard if it's your first semester (that was my mistake!)
