repeating a course for the 3rd time

edited July 2009 in General
I understand that we need the department chair for approval if we are gonna to repeat the course for the 3rd time, how complicated is the process? If I wanna take the course in fall, should I request my approval now?

i think it depends on the reason why you are repeating and if the course is necessary to continue your studies (ie: mandatory for your degree or a prereq that you need for mandatory classes).

also different departments are stricter about retakes, for example i heard kin averages the grades whereas most other departments use the higher grade.

Is there a really good reason behind re-doing a course for a 3rd time?

    failing a mandatory course twice?

For a class like Calculus they would make you write a qualification test before they allow you to re-do the class for a third time, but in other cases all it takes is a quick signature from the faculty advisor. Give em a call on Monday and see what they say
