they usually have 2 ceremonies a day a 945ish start and a 230ish start, the length of it really depends on the size of the grad class, some faculties take a lil longer (arts & social sciences), if i recall mine was about 1.5-2h or so
if u are strictly speaking photo opps with frds, just ask them to come near the end of the ceremony (if u dont care about them watching u walk on the stage and all that jazz)
