Innovative New Search Engines
Have you guys heard about this new search engine called Wolfram Alpha? It's the latest attempt at creating the next big search tool. It's similar to Google, but it analyzes the input in a different way. Whereas Google helps you search for keyword based content, this one helps you compute things in various different ways.
For example if you type APPL, GOOG it will give you a comparison of the two companies and their financial statistics. But if you type in a formula like x^2 sin(x) then it will give you plots, roots, etc. More of a contextual approach I guess.
Although Google will dominate the search engine game for a long time, there are some new search options popping up that seem more fresh, flexible and relevant than Google at times. It's a very lucrative market with heavy investment going on so I think it's only a matter of time before they start chipping away at Google's search market share. Try em out...
