How to dance to techno...

edited May 2009 in General
Hi everybody,

I have BIG problem and therefore I hope you can help me. I'm sure some of you guys do know the following situation: It's saturday night and you're out in a club. The music's great so you wanna dance altough you know that you're not the best in dancing techno-like. But as you're looking around and see the few people dancing to the music like hell (I mean trance & techno; what else and I mean those who know how to dance ) your self-confidence suddenly disappeares and you're just jealous of them.

I hope you understand what I mean. It's just that I'd really really appreciate it if anyone of you could tell me where to find videos (on the internet) where you can see some of these dance steps or where they "teach" you how to dance that way.

Thanks very much in advance!

as Mark Twain once said, "dance like nobody's watching.. love like you've never been hurt.. sing like nobody's listening.. live like it's heaven on earth" the point is to go out and have a good time so who cares if you know how to dance to techno or not and how people dance relative to you.. just let your body move to the music..

now if you're really self-conscious about it.. there's a lot of videos in youtube that sort of cover these things as agentbob posted.. take a look there and see if they can offer you some tips.. the next time you hit the club just remember to enjoy the music.. let your body unwind and have fun.. =)

what i found with hiphop most people in the clubs do the same moves, esp girls. i remember one time a friends and i were joking around and we went through all the typical moves ull see a girl do in a night

with trance though i find its more fluid and thus allows for more freedom in movement

but as said above its about having fun and letting loose, there will always be good people and bad people (the guys running on the spot at raves :D)
im almost tempted to make a video lol

is it just me or does the techno viking have freakishly small pecs for someone as cut a him?
edit: yes I'm well aware of how homo that sounds. Off to flame some bandwagon hopping trolls on the hockey thread for my big 1000

Just follow the beat? That's what I usually do. However, I don't really enjoy dancing to trance or techno or any of that shit. Listening, yes. Dancing, no.

If you really want to start to learn to dance to techno music, try getting into house music which to me, are songs that have been technofied. Tunnel and the Modern play house on Saturdays.

" ..goa trance and such... they have a fetish kink night( mostly naked people ) on saturday , but on friday is the good stuff, if you go there b4 10 30 its free and after its only 5 bucks , goes till 3 am very open minded people!"

House music is def. a lot better than like techno/trance type of stuff. The beats are a lot more chill and you can just follow the beat. And in terms of dancing just do what you wanna do...as long as it's to the beat LOL...keep in mind everyone around you is probably hammered and lettin' loose so like no ones even paying attention to you, so you can experiment and bite moves for a while :P
