is tech 114 hard?

edited May 2009 in General
Well I took tech 101w and got an A- from it (so its pretty easy). But i am taking 114 right now and realised it has alot more writing(three 1500 word blogs) than tech 101w even though tech 101w is a writing intensive course.
I took this course because of its b-soc requirement and I already took tech 101w. so the question is. Is tech114 hard?

Edit: btw im taking it with James Phillips who seems nice.

Are you taking it with Drew? There are three blog posts, and one in-class midterm where you have to write a entire research paper in-class (outline, sources, references, all that jazz) on a randomly assigned topic (given to you on the day of the exam) within 3 hours.

There are other in-class presentations you have to do, and group projects. You would also have to write a news article with interviews and such on a topic.

I have taken both courses, and Tech114 is much more writing intensive than 101w. Tech114 is a very interesting course, and there's usually a lot you can write about. Hard? No, not really.

James is awesome. End of story.

I found Tech114 much better than Tech101w. Definitely not harder. Also the blogposts were 500 words each if I recall correctly (unless anything has changed in the past couple years)
And writing about the history of a piece of technology is easier than spewing out several pages of BS on some important topic that your not too worried about. But that's just me.

There were a few unpleasant assignments in the middle, I guess, but the majority of the time things were pretty ok
