lol are you joking?? That class is just way to easy. Those people bragging about thier As are the pretentious ones. My friend put it all over his MSN and facebook, give me a break.
Well if the people boasting about getting A's are pretentious, and you roll your eyes at the pretentious ones because you did even better....doesn't that make you equally pretentious, if not MORE pretentious? You also made it a point to bring up that you got an A+ in the course.
No, I rolled my eyes because they thought that getting an A in IAT 100 a huge deal and was annoyed that people would brag about such a small thing like this.
And I made a point of me getting an A+ because it's just that easy to get an A, and in my class I had this conversation many times: Person: What did you get? I got an A! *brag brag, insert how they took only one hour to do the project blah blah* Me: I got an A+ Person: . . .
My friend supposedly got 99.9% a couple of semesters ago. This class is sooo easy. And my prof said they're planning to take out Flash which just makes it SO MUCH MORE EASIER! Because Flash was the only project that took some effort. Also, they're splitting the class so you'll get a lecture AND lab, not just a studio lab. So you can skip the lecture!!
Well, if it, in anyway, adheres to the SFU grading distribution, and it's as easy as you say, then some people will inevitably get B's and C's, even if they have high percentage grades in the class. Doesn't mean that they're "an idiot if they don't get an A". And it's statements like

You've got to be a complete idiot not to get an A.
Don't many people say, "you've got to be an idiot not to get an A"? Espcially for supposed GPA boosters such as CMPT 165? And many, many, many people didn't get an A and barely passed in CMPT 165. Why don't you go talk to those people about being pretentious. I was using the phrase to overexaggerate the fact that it is so damn easy to get an A in the class. You really don't need that much effort at all!
Some people did get some Bs and Cs but mainly because they thought it was so easy that they can skip the classes and just be there for presentations. You MUST go to every studio lab because there are in class assignments. I also go the "hardest" prof for IAT 100 so there were a couple of Bs and Cs in there.

i think this is the root to your problem.. leading people into thinking that you're just as pretentious.. there's no need to exaggerate about this as we have a couple of threads already dedicated to this oh-so-damn-easy course.. people can go figure after being reminded time and time again that easiness is a subjective thing..
its not that easy, its just the work load is big enough to worth 3 credits. I only got an A+ because I did the bonus assignment. and yes I did have jack stolkolm.(but you would probably learn more from him). It is difficult to learn flash and they are taking it out next semester, but something will make the course be around the same difficulty. You have to do the in class assignment in a short amount of time, which is very difficult but definitely doable in time. But consider my physics 120 mark b- compaired to A+ in Iat100, it is significantly easier than the science courses(including math).
tip: take more pictures with a camera rather than draw more pictures be ready to spend a hell lot of time doing the projects(I worked pretty hard on it so I don't know much about you) do the bonus assignment, its worth 5 percent(not that hard its just writing one page paper on an artwork, done in 10 - 30 minutes)

I got A+ and rolled my eyes at all the people who boasted about getting an A and A-. Really, no big deal.
