SFU Student Clubs

edited April 2009 in General
Hey hey hey, I will be a new student this year and have been looking at the website which lists some student clubs http://www.sfss.ca/Clubs_List.html

(I am unique that I was looking for a club catered to violins for noobs, you never know what clubs there are right?)

(I would suspect that some clubs are not listed, and also a lot of the listed clubs probably do not end up forming in the end)

So, I am wondering how your experiences are?

You will only see Religious clubs, or Asian clubs on campus.

Yea, the biggest clubs are the ones based around specific cultures and/or nationalities but that doesn't mean there aren't other clubs at SFU. Their are a diverse variety of smaller clubs, and they are a great way to explore your talents and make new friends. In the first couple weeks of every, the SFSS puts on "Clubs Days," which is a week long event where all the clubs set up tables and recruit new members. This is a great chance to see what clubs are out there, and meet the people that are involved with running them.

Some of the clubs I've been involved with are ACE (Advancing Canadian Enterpreneurship), Amensty International (SFU Chapter), and the Pre Med Society (Decided I'm not going to be a doctor)...all were fun and enjoyable!
