From Sociological Images, a health club in the Netherlands is using a bus stop that advertises both the gym and the weight of the person sitting on the bench.

Um, what?!?!

Body-shaming isn't an entirely new concept for gym advertisements. However, this is taking on a whole new level of disgrace. While people's bodies are obviously on display for potential judgement and speculation whenever anyone is out in public, the idea of conducting a public weigh-in and linking that with a gym ad is incredibly inappropriate. There are so many different people and issues that this kind of ad campaign would hurt, I just don't even know where to start. Which is why I suggest checking out Shakesville, the f word, and AdFreak for more thoughts.

Geez. So incredibly useless. A scale can't tell you that you're fat. The fact that you're fat (tummy, cellulite, FAT, granny flaps, FAT, etc.) tells you that you're FAT.

Plus, some fat chicks can be attractive, depends on the shape of their fat. If they are fat in the curvy way with an itty bitty waist and a fat bottom, that can be interpreted as attractive. However, if they are fat in the middle and tiny in the butt, that's just gross.

I have one of those at my work. She wears her jeans with a belt as if to tell herself she is not fat. Though her jeans are basically half way down her butt and her tummy and top half just spills over her belt. Kind of like how a cupcake looks, or a mushroom cloud.

I will never understand why fat chicks alway dress a few sizes DOWN.
