Poli Sci - DE or Class

edited March 2009 in General
So all these classes I want to take are all full except Poli Sci 151. Anyone ever take it Patrick Smith? Should I take DE or In Class?

I've only take one POLI SCI class but it was easy and based purely on concepts, not theory and understanding.

Really depends on how you can learn/take in information. I dont think you'll have trouble learning it seeing as the bulk of it will simply be reading/writing, unless that doesn't happen to be a strong suit, in which case, I'd go with something else.

    Personally, I'd go with DE.

i took this class via DE before.. i figured it was a waste of time to this course in person and i'll probably just fall asleep in the lecture hall anyway..the book he uses is an impossible read.. i went into the final clueless about what i read.. and apparently everyone else felt the same..

Smith is a pretty nice guy.. quite responsive to emails and willing to help.. read his comments about your first assignment.. iirc that assignment is not marked.. it's sort of a test paper in which he will tell you what he'll expect in your future assignments.. so READ IT.. the second assignment is learning to write a referendum.. that's pretty self explanatory since there's a step by step guide in the textbook..

overall the course is manageable even though the textbook was just... unGh.. =.=" the final is in essay form and structured to deal with current events.. so 2 weeks before the final make sure you watch the news or read the newspaper..
