Way to keep up with the TalkSFU current events =P I've been a mod for a few weeks now. There was an announcement made, but I don't think anybody checks the bottom few forums.

i'm with fido but i have had problems with their billing before. I mean real big problems. My account got hacked and someone working in fido was giving sim card information away or something and i got hit. Next month my bill comes in the mail and i nearly had a heart attack LOL. My monthly bill that month was over $16,000 for the month. CRAZY... apparantly someone had used my sim card info and was charging internet access, long distance calls, service fees, and others to my account and i got hit. Took a whole 3 weeks to argue with Fido about it and they waived the charges. I immediately took precautions by changing my card and took other security measures. Next month the bill was $27,000... apparantly this was an inside job as i argued with fido again... they admitted that there was an internal security breach and that some individuals was hitting random cards and distributing them out for use while the original account holder would be charged. I'm still stuck with fido but the bills have been ok lately though i wished i had a different plan. Maybe after my contract is up i'll get a better plan and phone at the same time. Did any of you have billing problems as large as mine? Do Tell... :)

then a couple of months ago my auto payment didn't go through cause the visa company froze my account suspecting potential fraud (which indeed happened) so i call them and told them of my case they promised they'll waive the late payment charge.. the next invoice comes and the big fat late payment charge was sitting there.. =.=" so i had to call in and settle THAT again...
but yeah.. i just find it funny that fido always pride themselves about great customer service.. =.="
Funny how Fido is 4th in line for postpaid while everyone in this thread have practically complained about Fido.
Bell has it's share of dropped calls and bad reception. I remember when I worked there... our most common line was, "Sir, Bell cannot guarantee reception EVERYWHERE." Also, there were a lot of dropped calls in basements suites--which I've hardly heard of on a Roger's phone.
I'm with Rogers and I doubt I'd ever switch.
I started out with Telus originally, back in 2002. Dropped calls, bad reception, and also a LOT of hidden fees/billing mistakes.
Then I switched over to Rogers in 2005/2006 and I've never had a problem since then--they even let me get out of paying $400 or so in Roaming charges I "didn't know about."
A couple of things I love about my Roger's phone too are that 1) when I go over to my mom's, the Roger's phone always has full bar while my mom's and brothers' Telus phones are either at 1 or 2 reception bars.. and 2) I had a Rogers and Bell phone for a while when I worked for Bell, I loved putting the two phones beside each other at pretty much anywhere and seeing how Rogers had full bars and Bell had less than 2 or 3 bars.
I've switched phones several times on Rogers network, some I've purchased on the internet, some from Rogers. I've never had a problem with reception or accessing the network. With Telus or Bell, I've heard alot about how reception depends on the certain phone as well (something about the Guadband, correct me if I'm wrong).
Anyhow--hard core Roger supporter and doubt I'll ever switch.
Too bad the Nuvifone touch screen is resistive. The interface looks aesthetically pleasing enough, but definitely doesn't look as fun to operate as the iPhone. Plus the lack of multi-touch means it won't have intuitive controls like the iPhone.

What the fank are you gonna do with an 8mp camera on a cellphone? I dont know much about photography, but from what i understand, 5mp is optimal for regular size prints.

anyways, my samsung jack broke, called fido, took about 5 min to get her to send me a replacement, good service if you ask me
also, i heard rumors that the nokia touch screen phone is transitioning to the capacitive screen, take that iphone!
