Biology mentorship program

Has anyone in biology done the mentorship program? Does the program actually help in anyway? What are your experience and would you recommend bio undergrads to apply? And which prof did you had?
I'm in my third year and thinking of applying, but on the other hand it sounds kind of useless...so I kinda want to know what people's experience with program are like. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
