Well, I am taking HUM-302 right now with Prof. Mirhady. It is a rather fun course where you get to learn about the Peloponnesian War by reading Thucydides's History of the Peloponnesian War and other plays. I have to write three 500 words mini-paper, one big paper, and a take home final. Even though it is a writing intensive course, I found the amount of work for that course is relatively reasonable.

Since it will be a different professor teaching this course in the summer, I don't know what her marking criteria and work load will be. Hell, I am not sure if she will even deal with the Peloponnesian War, as the Golden Age of Greece is a rather vague description of a period. However, don't expect the course to be anything like Prof. Mirhady's. You know what, it will be MUCH WORST because Prof. Anne-Marie Feenberg-Dibon is not even an expert in Classical Greece. She specializes in the Enlightenment and 19th & 20th c. European fiction...

Are you in the Humanities program? If not, forgive me for being frank, but can you take something else? HUM 302 is the Humanities Department's only upper level W course and a lot of Humanities boys and girls need this course to fulfill their WQB requirement. I personally waited for a year, plus some agressive negotiation, in order get into HUM 302 this semester. I don't want some non-Humanities major putting one of my fellow Humanities students behind schedule or being left to take some GPA killer because there is nothing left just so that they can take some breadth courses.

Fortunately, I am not too sure if you will be allowed to register for HUM 302 if you are not in Humanities.

I am not saying anymore things until you identify yourself as a Humanities student. I will not do or say anything that will jeopardize one of my Humanities student's chance of getting into this vital class.

If Hum 302 is the equivalent of Hum 202 but with more material, work, and specifics, then I strongly suggest you do not take it.

The amount of work required for it is not worth the 3 credits.

    HUM 302 is a 4 credit courses.

Once again, if you are not in the HUM or that Hellenic Studies Certificate Program, DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. HUM and Hellenic Studies students need this course for their program requirement a lot more than your Breadth.
