Canada is Officially World's Best Financial System

edited February 2009 in General
This is very reassuring news and has renewed my faith in Canadian politics...ironic, because the same regulations that make Canada seem so strict are what protected it's banks from financial ruin (we haven't had to bail out one single bank). The best part is that now that this is becoming international news, it will ensure that Canada recovers readily from the Global recession while other countries may have a much harder time.

Some economist said Canada's situation will get worse later on as the crisis is like a wave, but it just hasn't fully hit us yet.

Here's another surprising report on the health of Canada's Banks, namely CIBC

Report on Business (Feb 26, 2009): CIBC makes $147-million in the quarter

Not only is it one of the very few companies that didn't lose money last quarter, the most significant thing is that it's a bank...I'm amazed.
