Don't listen to primexx/cshen, he's somehow related to Andy Shen... He's the mole of this forum!!!
and what do you have to go on? that we share the same english spelling of our last names? Do you also discount William Shen and Colin Shen (last year's election) too based on that?

    grow a fucking brain.

Jeeze, take a freaking joke, guys.

I was just playing on the rumour (on the chat) that you were the cousin of Andy.
And I know William, he isn't related to Andy.

All joking aside, in all liklihood you probably you did tell him when someone made a post about him, and that was when he came here that one time. It has nothing to do with your last names being Shen, whether you are family or not, you both appear to be keeners. Do you deny you two know each other and or are friends?

Primexx, I think it would be a good idea for you to confirm or deny your ties with Andy Shen once and for all. Or, as 2008 Election Jingos would call, throw him under the bus. This is not a witch hunt, but just to make sure you are one of the "good guys".

also: why is it that every topic to do with student politics always turns into a witch hunt?

you know what? I'm retracting my previous 2 posts, nothing obligates me to answer to those accusations.

We wouldn't be having this problem is existing student politicians would stop putting their own self-interest and feuds ahead of actually WORKING FOR STUDENTS.

If they would address REAL issues such as the Student Service and Registration problems instead of the whole CFS thing and other BS, the SFSS wouldn't be plagued by fractionaism and infighting. I talked to Andy over Facebook a day ago and he said he and other people will be dealing with this in their campaign! Let's see if they will follow through with their promise. I don't get how hard it is to address these problems, nevermind solving these problems.

Seriously, if the whole CFS get drag on any further, would it be possible if we disband SFSS and form a new Student Society. The CFS can't steal from a dead organization, right?

Well, unfortunately, I do not think we Arts students are allowed to vote in the Applied Science election. We can only vote for the Faculty Representative of our own faculty. Ex: FASS students can only vote for FASS Representative and FAS students can only vote for FAS Representative.

However, we can definitely help JayDub by convincing our Applied Science friends to vote for JayDub. We can start off with Flora and Nicole, our two Communication major members.
You can vote in the faculty if (1) you are a declared major in that faculty , or (2) you are taking a course in that faculty.
Example, I am taking courses in FAS, FSci, and FASS right now. that allows me to vote in all 3 faculties as well as the executive and atlarge positions.
If you wish to vote for Josh Weissbock, then you either have to be a declared major/minor/honours in or taking a course in CMPT, ENSC, REM, CMNS, KIN, TECH or IAT.

It is impossible to disband the Simon Fraser Student Society. The SFSS is a registered organization and all students have to pay their membership fees to the SFSS. It is possible for you to impeach the board of directors of the SFSS and then have a by-election. If you only impeach a few, they will be appointed by forum.

Joe Paling running for President and resigning and having me take over is only a rumour and I had no intentions of doing so. As of 2 weeks ago, I am no longer affiliated with Joe Paling and he now endorses Mona Law. Joe Paling wanted me to run for AtLarge and I said no to him. I do not wish to be in control by Joe Paling after he has graduated. This is Simon Fraser Student Society that we are talking about, not the Joe Paling Society.

Ridiculous as in the claims or ridiculous as in the website layout? Regardless, this website is another one of those pathetic Ad Hominid campaigns common in student politics. Seriously...
As an at-large director, during [Natalie's] leave in Quebec, she was sexually involved with impeached director Shawn Hunsdale.
Where did they get this information? What does this have to do with SFSS? This is why many students are relatively apolitical when it comes to student politic and why SFSS is in the bad shape it is in right now.

BTW, JayDub, why haven't I seen any of your posters around campus yet? Or are you planning to campaign mostly online?

There was some guy who went into one of my classes who said he was doing a paper-free campaign so none of his posters were up.

But I don't think that was JayDub since the class was in Surrey and JayDub seems to hate Surrey with a passion =p

    I'm just doing a poster-free campaign.

I don't believe in wasting money making posters with promises that I will never keep.

    That I can respect.

They shouldn't even allow posters, if people want to campaign they should have write ups on the internet, or be talking to people in person.

Those fucking posters are a waste of paper and make the entire university look stupid.

I agree, I'm a bit of an environmentalist and the posters are such a waste of paper and some are really badly done. All those posters up on the walls bring me back to high school with those popularity contests they call student council elections.

I especially hate Andy Shen's poster, not only because I dislike him as a person but also because there's an ugly cartoon of him on the poster. It really reflects his neanderthal-esque looks. It's almost like he's endorsing his ugliness. Plus, there's random Chinese characters on his poster (a friend of mine ranted about that today saying, "what is this guy trying to prove?)

Anyways, back to the posters. The fact that JayDub hasn't and does not plan to put up paper posters further encourages me to want to vote for him. However, I'm not taking any CS or Crim courses... but half of my friends are in CS and the other half is in Crim (seriously... haha) and I'll definately ask them to vote for JayDub.

I'd also like to vote for that guy who announced in one of my lectures that he wasn't going to use paper posters, but I completely forgot his name and was too far to see what he looked like ='(
  • edited March 2009
I know, most people use flattering pictures and he just looks hella-ugly on his poster... not helpful at all, when these things are about popularity

I don't see how relating yourself to JJ MCcullough helps you with being popular either

^Summerheaven, if what Andy said is true, you can actually vote for Josh in the FAS Election because you are taking a two IAT courses in Surrey. You are taking IAT courses in Surrey, right?

Plus, if Graham wins FAS Rep, he will have to step down as he is a CMNS major and CMNS is leaving the FAS shortly.

Let's hope Andy is not lying, or I am banning his arse for multiple accounts, spam, and just being a nuisance.

*Sigh* Where is Primexx and his in-depth knowledge of the SFSS when you need him?

Update: I actually banned "Andy Shen" believe it or not, but not for the reasons I outlined above...
