Those asian clubs have the most people crowding around their table. Their membership fees are expensive too.

I would love a free bouncy ball but i have no intention of goign to burnaby anytime soon!!

Same as always, I can never find I club I am interested in. I am only taking 15 credits this semester, and I have more than enough time for clubs with this sort of workload.

Oh, as for those Asian clubs, do you even get anything good out of them that justify spending $5 to $10 for membership?

Come to the CAC (Canadianized Asian Club) table! We're located right outside Mackenzie Café exit (although I heard we might be relocating these next two days)

And just to break any assumptions, we're not just the stereotypic "Asian club" (haha for some reason the term seems so negative). We're totally non-exclusive and we put on a bunch of great events throughout the year--like Dessert Night (coming up this Friday), Dating Auction, and more.

Membership is $3/semester or $5/year (but since we're in Spring right now we're only offering the semester membership), which grants you a CAC membership card. Not only does it give you a discounted member price at our events, but you can show your membership card at our various sponsors for some awesome perks (e.g. free cover charge at a lot of clubbing venues).

Find out more at http://www.caconline.ca and/or look for our table these next few days! You can't miss the gigantic yellow banana at our table =)

    /end corny sales pitch

Why does the school even need so many Asian and Christian clubs?

Half the clubs are either Asian, Christian, or both...

I for one am tired of having to pay for these club's unoriginality.
  • edited January 2009
I think I might join Vocal Jazz too =P Oh and CAC do look interesting. I might drop by tomorrow!

It's cuz non-Asians are too lazy to make their own clubs.

Ya honestly stop whining. Go form your own if you don't like the ones being offered now. Asian or not.

Or because if I made a White Pride club then I would be labelled as Hitler 2.0 and be considered racist when all I wish to do is celebrate my European heritage by drinking.

Technically thats not true, you can celebrate anything as long as it isnt appreciating white males :teeth:.

Didn't they try forming some kind of drinking club or something before? I thought I saw something last term about it (Or was it just some weaksauce wine-tasting one? I can't remember)

    ???????
wtf is wrong with that? not that I'm a fan of wine tasting or anything but common now
the only thing thats weaksauce is how ignorant people are by joining a club like CAC or w/e the shit its called and pay their fee when in fact all their "benefits" and "discounts" they offer members are already available to EVERYONE for FREE
    now thats weaksauce!

EDIT: before u spread more bs about the club let me elaborate on their "sponsors" and perks
2$ off DTP (toyo tires - driven to perform auto show) entrance
having worked as a promoter for DTP i know ANYONE is eligeable this 2$ discount, usually they have people months before the event handing out 2$ off fliers, there are also people @ GM place giving these out on the day of the show AND if thats not enough the tellers usually have the fliers on them and u just ask when paying ull get the 2$ off
fabutan i don't tan nor have i ever but my sis has and the reason i can speak on this topic is simple
businesses like fabutan make affiliate sales, that is refer someone and you get a deal 1free week per friend u recommend etc. so again its in fabutans best interest to give out these deals and discounts that anyone can attain
Cellular Baby 10% off already jacked up prices? are u guys serious?
some random club no cover before 11pm umm its called guest list...and it sure as hell don't cost no membership fee...
i could go on with the rest of ur "perks" but really why would i bother ...

Seriously though, how hard is it to form a club?

    Oh JayDub...

Honestly though, while White Pride is COMPLETELY out of the question, some sort of clubs that bring white people of same heritage (Scottish, Celtic, Dutch...) together would be nice. Actually, I DO think there is some sort of Scottish Culture club on campus.

I recall SFSS El Presidente Joe Paling formed a cigar club or something.

How come someone doesn't make a talksfu club? It would be popular since it already has an established online community.
