IAT 102 and WL 100

edited November 2008 in General
IAT 102: Has anyone ever taken this class? I know it's reserved for IAT majors or something until the middle of Dec but I'm thinking if there's spots left, I'd like to take it... Who's teaching it next semester? It says TBA on go.sfu

WL 100: I know it's not offered next semester, but is this a good course? Who's a good prof for it?

Thanks =D

    It's in Surrey.

    And IAT has limited seating because it's a Surrey exclusive major.

    Yes, I know it's in Surrey...

    I'm not a Surrey student nor am I an IAT major, does that mean I won't be able to take it?

    I have a comp sci friend who took it this semester so I assumed that I could as well...

    there is no such thing as a surrey or burnaby student, but there is only such thing as a SFU student. Just like most of the other courses, if you are not a major of that faculty, you will have to wait until december something before the enrollment for that class is available to everyone.
    It's usually Gilly Mah who teaches it, but just the most important part is the TA you get. try to get in Angela's class. she is super nice

    ^Are you sure? I have a friend in Surrey who was telling me about her advisor who told her, "You are a Surrey student so you should take advantage of taking courses in Surrey because you get priority" or something to that extent.

    If I declare my major/minor/certificates then I would be able to get into certain classes, then? I'm still only first year, should I go declare my major now? How do I declare my major? I think there was an online form of some sort?

    Definitely no such thing as a "Surrey Student".

    Declaring helps if they have spots only for majors and minors. To declare, go to the advisor in the department you wish to declare in.

    There is something that is known as a surrey girl though, but that is different.
