Fitness Centre Questions

edited September 2008 in General
Would anyone know how busy the fitness centre is in the morning (say...10 to 12) and in the afternoon (2 to 5)?

And would it be weird for me to be bringing my backpack in the gym (and bringing it with me next to the equipment), or does everyone use gym lockers? (I don't live at rez)

I don't live in rez either and just use a locker. There's usually a 30 minute wait for cardio machines starting around 3-4PM, and the floor is pretty busy most of the time in the afternoon but I've never actually seen a "peak" hour.

Nobody every brings their backpacks to the actual machines (only water, towel and exercise jot book). Most people who bring bags just leave them in little compartments beside reception on the 2nd floor or beside the stairs on the 1st floor.

Also, the first couple of weeks are going to be hectic because people are gonna be in the "new semester = new beginning" spirit and going to gym religiously. That said spirit usually dies down after 2-3 weeks and the gym becomes more accessible to regulars. See ya out there!

As for backpacks, I keep mine by the machines wherever I go (since I like to keep valuables with me but not in my pockets when working out).

I'd say it = starts getting busy at around 1 or 2... although it depends which days...

And as mentioned above, you don't have to get a locker because they have cubby holes for storage on both floors, though I don't know how safe it is to leave your stuff there (I use them though lol).
