What shows are you going to?

Triple's starting a gazillion new threads about each show he's going to, so I thought I should just start one for all of us to brag about the concerts we're going to =P

I'll start things off:

Common and N.E.R.D. at the Malkin Bowl on Sept. 10 -- totally stoked!!

Weezer at GM Place Oct. 10 -- yay for geek rock, should be good times

    I'd definitely go to Weezer.. but I've sworn off going to big concerts unless I can get floor tickets (like Iron Maiden.. damn that was good). The prices for stadium concerts are always higher than smaller venues and it's just not the same when you're sitting in the bleachers 2 miles away from the stage watching the show on the big screens they set up because you can barely see the band.

    The PNE Forum, the Commodore, and other places like that offer a much better experience.

    Edit: I'm going to Alice Cooper at the Orpheum on September 19, and uh.. Weird Al at the Boulevard Casino on Saturday.

    Edit: Also, I heard that Black Mountain and The New Pornographers are doing a free show at the Malkin Bowl near the end of August. I might go to that even though I haven't listened to a lot of either band. It's free though.

    True that, I'd much rather go to a concert at a venue like the Commodore... too bad the more successful bands eventually start playing at the larger venues =( Tickets for Weezer aren't that bad though... only 50 bucks for lower bowl seats.

    Ooh my bf likes the New Pornographers... maybe I'll go too =) Free is always good...

    Went to Radiohead on Tuesday. Fuck YES. 22,000 people, in the rain (cept for those fuckers in the stands), and of course, Radiohead, all 2 hours of them.

    Then off to Weezer in October, and Rise Against in November.

    Went to Radiohead earlier in the month, Madonna in October...my money is spent on Canucks games though, haha.

    For serious? I've heard some of his standup, he's awful. Some moderately funny chappelle show stuff, mostly due to editing, and hilarious acting out of the stories. But his standup is like getting a hot poker in the ear.
