Does anyone know how the waitlist works? I checked the SFU website and it doesn't say much. Will goSFU notify me if I don't get enrolled into the lab that I want? Or will the prof make an exception?
im pretty sure all it does is hold a spot if the chance someone drops it, the seat is reserved for you, then you have to manually enroll
and if you dont after like 24 hours or something the next person gets priority, i think you have to check everyday and confirm your waitlist too..i think, im not entirely sure
I'm on a waitlist for CMNS 200 (recommended course for Communication Co-op students) and my Co-op term will be in the Spring. I e-mailed the Communication adviser but no response. I'm 8th on the waitlist for a class of 36....are the chances slim??? I've never stuck it out and waited before.
it wil automatically enroll you as long as you aren't registered ina conflicting course (a backup just in case you don't get in). if you are in a conflicting course, then you will have to first drop the course and manually enroll, but i'm pretty sure that anybody who notices a seat is open can manually enroll so you have to be on top of it (that's how i got into my courses 3rd year - by stealing seats from waitlisters). but as far as i can recall there's no notification, you just have to keep checking. if there's no conflicting course then you're good though.
