The Dark Knight

edited July 2008 in General
This movie is AWESOME. Seriously, it is a god damned tragedy that Heath Ledger died, he would have had an absolutely amazing career. What a performance.

This movie is much better than Begins. It's also longer. Don't go to this if you have trouble sitting through movies. It's just over 2 and a half hours long. Not counting credits or previews. But it's a GOOD two and a half hours. :)

Also, I sat through the credits and there's nothing, so don't bother.

I just came home from it! I'm going to see it again I think.

I loved it. Absolutely loved it. With all the hype, it still held up to the expectations!

agreed: heath ledger really shines--he doesn't just play the Joker. he really was the Joker--I forgot that it was Heath Ledger behind the makeup. I'd want to talk about it more but I don't want to give anything away !

Also, Christian Bale will have a long career ahead of him I'm sure! He's awesome.

    Heard nothing but good things

Saw it last night -- incredible! Without Ledger though, it wouldn't have been as good. He made the movie.

    Two-face looked sweet
kinda unrealistic though which is weird for Nolan seeing how he wants everything realistic

Yeah, Two-Face looked exactly like the cartoon. It was very good effects work. Yeah, unrealistic, especially the idea that he could have a working eye without any eyelids to keep the eye moist. :p But still, looked very cool.

So who do you think will be the villain for the next film now that heath is dead
  • edited July 2008
    Two-face and a new one.

I just watched the movie two days ago in Hong Kong and the movie was awesome. Heath Ledger's performance is awesome and I at time forgot that it was Heath Ledger behind the makeup. I love how Batman did some "CSI" stuff along with beating people into a pulp this time. However, I am kind of upset that Two-Face is dead though.

the whole movie i did not think he was heath, therefore he played his part amazing, thus nominated at least

Just came back from the theater. It definitely lived up to the hype.

This movie was by FAR way better than Batman Begins and I have to agree with most people here, I forgot half the time that Heath Ledger was the Joker; his performance was AWESOME! "Do you know how I got these scars?" hahaha even though it was kinda long I didn't mind at all! I think I'm gonna go watch it in IMAX now and Two-Face was pretty cool too, his burnt face was so realistic kinda like the comic! Batman was tight as usual; all in all this was one of my favorite movies of the year! =)

Two-face may not really be dead...u dont really know that as an audience...he's just lying there...i mean the fall wasnt so bad...and it's not like batman died from it. They did STAGE his death with the memorial and all...but u neeeever know...Two-face is a big part in Batman comics.

Apparently Two-face looked different before...they made the burns look more realistic and apparently it was too real and frightening in the screen previews, so they changed it to what it looks like now. More fake/cartoon-y. Just some FYI.

I duno, they should have showed him breathing then.

Seems like he shouldn't have died, but he really doesn't have anything left to do.

He was a big part of the movie but the whole time it was Batman using him against Joker using him.

In the end, Joker won. So how do you carry on the story with two-face if he isn't dead?
He just wants revenge on batman/dirty cops? Seems too plain for Nolan...

I FINALLY saw it tonight! It was really, really good and I'm not one for comic or action-type movies. I was totally sitting on the edge of my seat.

Heath Ledger's performance was riveting. I was absolutely blown away. He was totally in character for the whole movie, even down to the little details of how he licked his lips and the way he talked. Even his posture and everything. It gave me the chills. And the makeup was really good too (and also for Two Face too!)

    Such.
    A.
    Good.
    Movie.

I even managed to cry in it. Don't ask.

This movie was dope! Although it was a little long for my taste. (A guy in the back behind me was snoring by the end!) I agree, Heath Ledger's acting was AMAZING in this movie! I liked the character of Two Face and how he began as a hero and became the anti-hero. Anyways, a bit long, but overall a good movie for the summer!
