advice needed for history or political science course
Hi all,
I needed to take one 100 or 200 level History or Political Science course, but I really wanted to avoid writing any essays/papers.
do you guys know which 100 or 200 level History or Political Science course that doesn't involve any essay writing?
also for POL 151, i found out that the grading is as follow(summer 08, distance ed.; same prof. in fall dist. ed. as well):
Diagnostic assignment (mandatory) 0%
2 short answers (10% each) 20%
Memorandum 20%
2 short answers (10% each) 20%
Final examination (closed book) 40%
anyone know what is expected to do in the Memorandum section?
and are the short answers just paragraph-long answers?
really wanted to avoid writing any essays.
Thanks.

POL 100 is pretty good.
Randomuser is right, essays and long assignments are a BIG part of History and Political Science. Also, you should be glad that essays and long assignments are such big parts of my programs, because it meant that quizzes and exams will worth less. Therefore, suck it up or try begging your advisors to exempt you from this. I am guessing that you are a Business Major, right?
However, if you are really that insistant on avoiding writing any essays, you can try your luck by convincing your academic advisors to accept HUM-105 as a History course. I mean, HUM-105 was once HIST-105.
so can anyone give me some idea of what is expected to do in the "memorandum" and "short answers" parts?
Thanks for all the replies, and I'll try my luck on HUM-105.
If you can't do that, then you're not longed for university.
