    hey i PM you some info about the eng 102 - companions and horizons book! if you can, tell me if you still want it or not! thanks!

    Just a bit of advice. Check all your books to see if they're available online. A lot of them you can easily find at a fraction of SFU Bookstore's price.

    ^^^ Oh thanks. Lolz but it's so hard to find them though =(

    It's not that hard. I just went through and found most if not all of your books on amazon. Plus, it's not as if you have to buy all of them. You won't need Everyday writer, you probably won't need 100 Great Poets because most of the poems will probably be online, and if not, you can always mug them off someone in class.

    You don't have to have Candide since the book will effect 1% of your total econ mark. But it's a really good and funny book, so you should get it regardless. You'll probably be able to easily score a copy at a public library.

    (Sorry if it looks like I'm trespassing on your thread xP)

    @SpectreFire:
    Yeah, since I basically need these same books, I was thinking of buying off Amazon too.. free shipping on $39+ woot! And 100 Great Poets is just a collection of poems? Maybe I won't buy it then and save the $30.

    Anyone have any experience buying online from the states? (Import duties/taxes-wise).. Stumbled upon a place that has some great deals on new/used books even with the shipping but that could possibly change if I get charged import duties.

    From amazon.ca

    "100 Great Poets is provides a concise but comprehensive overview of the poetic tradition in English. Chronologically arranged, the book presents the major poets from Beowulf to the present with representative examples from each author. The headnotes and selections reflect the high notes of each poet¿s career—the classic poems that have earned an enduring place in the canon of English language literature. General reader seeking the great poems of the English language in one manageable volume."

    You probably won't get charged import duties on books. I've shipped a lot of things from the states from simple electronics, to books to camera equipment. And I haven't been charged a cent in duties.
