Admitted in Arts Vs Sciences

edited July 2008 in General
I never really thought of the difference, can anyone else shed some light?

Since I've never even tried enrolling in any faculty of sciences classes, what is the difference between the admittances?

I'm assuming that XX% amount of seats are held for people who are in the faculty in those classes when it comes to registering, am I correct?

I was told that the first two years are general for everyone and it doesn't matter what faculty you get admitted into.. from an academic advisor.

I don't believe it for a second but thats what she told me.. there has to be something to it... otherwise why would anyone try and get admitted into a high average faculty?

I top wanna know the answer to this Q.

There are a few faculties which you must be admitted in to take most of the courses, but the vast majority of them lets you take any course you want. So there really isn't any difference between being admitted into arts vs. science, you could still decide to do a science major, just declare it. What really matters is your uni GPA, not the high school mark.

i'm in a similiar situation. I'm admitted into the faculty of arts but I am thinking of doing a science major, but I would have to take classes like intro to biology and intro to chemistry because i didn't take chem 11/12 and didn't take bio 12.
