CNS 210??

edited July 2008 in General
Hey, I'm just wondering if any of you took/are taking CNS 210 as distance ed with Irwin Shubert? Apparently, when I went to RateMyProfessor.ca, his ratings for that course is just horrible and terrible...Any comments about that professor?

Do not take anything with that imbecile, period. I have taken CNS 210 with that guy and I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THAT COURSE. First of all, Canadian Studies alone is a very vague subject. Second, you combine that vagueness with an idiot that can't teach and you will get a course that makes no sense and will strike a major blow on your GPA. Specifically, he does not know how to mark essays . Frankly, I don't even know why he is even teaching that course, he is a Geography Ph.D student. Also, the course contents are substandard, to say the least. In simple terms, it has nothing to do with Canada.

He is a failure as a professor and he should stop teaching and be disciplined.

That guy is a pile of shit.

He has single-handedly failed THE most people at SFU EVER.

He doesn't care how good you write, if he doesn't like the sound of your name, he WILL fail you. That's how much of a pile of shit he is. The highest ANYONE has ever got in that class is a D. The amount of people he fails is proportional to how much more superior he feels about himself. He gets his jollies from failing people.

He needs to get hit by a bus. It's amazing how people like that still haven't been hit by a bus already.

You should NEVER take a writing course unless absolutely necessary. That is because the marking scheme in a writing course is always subjective to the marker. Unlike science or mathematics, there are no "hard facts" or "definite answers". If the marker doesn't like you, he WILL fail you and you can't even argue about it cause "good writing" is subjective.

This piece of shit is a prime example of why you should NEVER take a writing course unless required.
