Choosing required courses first or electives?

edited July 2008 in General
So I'm a first year business student, and I'm wondering whether I should plan my schedule with required business courses first or electives first?
I'm slightly concerned with this because I have the choice of picking the courses first over the other years and some electives have limited spacing..

For electives I'm looking at psyc-100, cmns-110, cmpt-120, cmpt-165.. Do they fill up fast?

I say you should tackle the required business courses first and deal with electives later because Business courses TOO fill up quite quickly. I would recommend talking at least three business required courses and two electives in your first semester. In the next semester, you deal with another two business required courses, two electives, and one W or Q courses.

While I understood that my system may doom you to failure if you fuc* up in the business required courses, but this is a necessary gamble because, like I said previously, business courses fill up relatively quickly.

Yeah, it seems that almost every single electives that I selected landed me in a world of pain...

Well, I am glad that I finished my B-Social Science, B-Science, B-Humanities and one course from finishing my U-Breadth...

take courses that are pre reqs for other courses you need if its your first semester, cause after your first semester you pick courses last after everyone else ;)
