4 classes vs. 5 classes

edited June 2008 in General
i'm debating whether to take 4 or 5 courses in the fall and i've only taken 5 courses twice, but 2 of those were 2 credit courses, so I was just wondering if those of you who have taken both 4 and 5 courses, do you find there's a huge difference in the load/stress/management? particularly those in sciences b/c we have labs which are time consuming...

I have only taken five classes a semester, once I took six (19 credit hours). I do not find them too bad since I live in rez and I do not have a job. I also do not find them stressful or that they take too much of my time.

I have taken 5 courses every Fall and Spring semester because I, like JayDub, live in Rez as well as doesn't have a job. However, be sure that you manage your time wisely or you will get swamped during paper and exam time.

I've taken 4 courses for both Fall and Spring semesters. They were enough, but I feel I could have taken on another course. It's a good workload and easy to balance with work, boyfriend, dance, gym, etc. I'm thinking of tackling 5 courses this semester.

I did better when I took five, probably because I made a point of managing my time. I took a semester off work as well so that made things a whole lot easier.
But not having a job sucks, so if you're working I would probably recommend 4 classes.

im taking 15 credits right now and working 4 days a week, i also plan on taking 5 in the fall, then my two last semesters im taking 4, i honestly find not much of a difference, maybe there would be big dif between 3 and 5, but not 4 and 5

It really depends on what classes your taking. I recommend not taking more than 4 science/math classes at the same time.

I usually take 4 courses in the fall and spring, but I also take the summer semester to make up for it. The workload is just fit for me.

To be fair... you are in the arts... :P

to be fair, you can chalk up 32 hours plus a week in work hours, its pretty much writing off 3-4 days of my week where i can do school work

to be fair, you're in the applied sciences not the natural sciences ;)

i realized i couldnt even enroll in science classes, too many of those classes require you be on campus 2-4 days a week per class. if i were to go to school that much i would have no time to work, thus not go to school at all

Applied science is still a science.
