The Good Obscure Music Thread

edited March 2010 in General
I've been getting into some oldies lately, and there's some good shit out there. Once you get past the crappy sitar-stoner-"ohmygodIhavetowriteasongabouthisacidtripIjusthad" sixties songs. Stupid hippies. Damn, do I hate hippies.

Anyway, I figured I'd make a thread for people to post music they like, that nobody knows about. This can be old music that our generation hasn't been told about, music from bands nobody knows, or unknown tracks from well-known bands.

Some I can think of:
Cunning Lynguists - War
The Hold Steady - Your Little Hoodrat Friend
The Hold Steady - Stuck Between Stations
The Hold Steady - How a Ressurection Really Feels
The Hold Steady - The Cattle and the Creeping Things
The Hold Steady - Banging Camp
The Smiths - Bigmouth Strikes Again
The Smiths - I Am the Sun, I Am the Air
Jurassic 5 - Work it Out
Aesop Rock - Daylight
Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla
Blue Oyster Cult - Ballroom Blitz
Blue Oyster Cult - Astronomy
The Bastard Fairies - We're All Going to Hell
The Bastard Fairies - Habitual Inmate
Danzig - Mother
Frank Zappa - Bobby Brown
The Ides of March - Vehicle <--AWESOME kareoke song
Jack Johnson - Traffic in the Sky
Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band - Live On
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band - In 2 Deep
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band - Was
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band - Wild Love
Muse - Apocalypse Please
Monster Magnet - Kick Out the Jams
Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang
Queen - Princes of the Universe
The Refreshments - Mexico
The Refreshments - Banditos
The Refreshments - Down Together
The Peacemakers - Jack vs Jose
The Peacemakers - Buffalo
Cake - Let Me Go
Big Wreck - The Oaf
The Tragically Hip - Cordelia
Belle and Sebastian - I Don't Love Anyone
The Decemberists - July, July!
The Trews - Cry
Zero 7 - In the Waiting Line
Wilson Pickett - Land Of 1000 Dances

Some of those might be well known in general, but I'm always surprised at the people who've never heard of the Deceberists. :o
