Salaries?

edited May 2008 in General
I'm nearing graduation and looking at jobs and life after school in general, and just wondering what you guys felt the minimum salary needed to live in this area is (as a single person)?

It all depends on your standards. Want to live alone? Take out a mortgage, or rent? Need a bigger place? How do you like to eat? How far are you willing to commute, in return for lower rent?

If you want to keep living like a student, you can get by on ~15-20K a year. If you want to live like a human being, you're looking at 25-30K a year. If you want to live well, it's about 35-45K a year. And if you want to live very comfortably, you're looking at 60+K a year.

i'm looking at about $1600/mo when i move into my new townhouse next year. that's for mortgage payments, gas, food, taxes, insurances,.. all the necessities...or most of em anyway. and that's splitting the cost with my brother. and we got a damn good rate on our mortgage (staff benefits). that's on the borderline between surrey/langley. that means i need a bare minimum of $20K/year...and that doesn't include entertainment...
