Question about CGPA for repeated courses

edited April 2008 in General
Hey guys, I have a question regarding CGPA calculations for repeated courses. To my understanding if you failed a course but repeated after, the one with the higher mark is used for CGPA while the F is now disregarded. So technically, no matter you get the second time around, your CGPA should go up regardless. Heres my situation, instead of going up, it went down, since I still got a lower mark than what i usually get. Does go sfu system do the correction automatically? Or does it take time before its corrected. Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

So you re-took a course and you did worse.

Then they used your new mark to calculate GPA?

Probably an error on their part, might want to try asking them.

Thanks for the reply. I failed it, got a C+ this time around. Just that a C+ is still lower than my CGPA (2.6ish), but the CGPA did not go higher, it got lower. Just wondering if it takes time before the "go sfu" system recognize a course repeat and recalculate the CGPA.

i think if its a kin course, they take the average of the two marks, but i think kin is the only faculty to do that.
