    @ triple/nicole, y philly over washington...Ovechkins a scoring machine
  • edited April 2008
I think they're on a great little run, but I don't think they have the leadership to win a series, which is why I think they would lose in 7. Lack of goaltending more than anything.
When Briere is hot in Philly, they're a little more than decent. Under-rated IMO, but won't go past second round.

    ok lets see

    Montreal/Boston - Montreal in 5
    Pittsburgh/Ottawa - Pitt in 6
    Washington/Philly - Washington in 7
New Jersey/New York - New Jersey in 6
    Detroit/Nashville - Detroit in 5
    San Jose/Calgary - San Jose in 7
    Minnesota/Colorado - Minny in 6
    Anaheim/Dallas - Anaheim in 6

I think philly will lose the first 2 games, but they will be pounding washington and wear them down. Washington is very young too, so we shall see what happens, lol
  • edited April 2008
I predict that the Canucks will not make it into the playoffs.
  • edited April 2008
man im a huge canucks fan but the only word to describe them this season was pathetic. Most inconsistent team in the NHL id say.
  • edited April 2008
i say they were pretty consistent

    consistently mediocre?
  • edited April 2008
Consistently mediocre would be win 1, lose 1, win 2, lose 2, etc.
This group looked like they had what it took to go deep on a number of occasions, and then looked like they were the Moose on an equal number of occasions.
Time for a big change, and the only person I'll miss is Linden.
  • edited April 2008
I totally agree, Linden is a Canuck legend, naslund needs to go for sure. The players id like to see stay on the team are Bieksa and the Sedins and a couple of young players, every1 else to me is expendable.
  • edited April 2008
Naslund did pretty well, this year. He gets more flak cause he's the C, and I guess that's deserved, but saying he "needs to go for sure" is a bit harsh, don't you think?
  • edited April 2008
haha not at all.. he gets a huge chunk of money and he simply cant deliver. If he does come back he definitely doesn't deserve the captaincy. He isnt the leader type.
  • edited April 2008
If Linden had to step in and make that speech in the locker room near the end of the season, I think it's a time to really question the captaincy for good.
Naslund had a decent season looking at numbers and comparing his salary to other players around the league, but there were way too many nights when he just didn't look like he gave a damn on the ice. If the fire isn't under your ass, it's time to GTFO.
If we had a team of Alex Burrows', I think we'd be in the playoffs! ;)

all you naslund bandwagon jumpers. don't forget. naslund broke most of the franchise records in points. i'm surprised you're not firing off at Luongo for his poor performances with the team as well since the team goals against average has been increasing.

Good thing im not a canucks fan, haha. Not that the sens are going to go anywhere...

but yeah... I know one thing about having over paid players on the team... (Redden... 6.5 million) and it is tough to gauge how valuable they are to the team because no one knows what they are like in the dressing room. But by pure gameplay, Naslund sucked... lol Did he even get 60 points?
  • edited April 2008
i dont hav much time to comment, but the canucks certainly have a number of problems they need to address

though, u cant just 'blow it all up' and get rid of whoever

salo ohlund mitchell luongo all have no trade clauses

naslund, morrison, miller, isbister, richie, weaver are all ufa (linden is as well, but he is prob retiring)

w/o naslund's contract, there is some wiggle room in our cap to make some changes

thats what an average team does, have flashes of brilliance but over the course of a regular season, they were pretty much a fringe playoff team at best

+ given the # of injuries, the canucks really didnt hav what it took to make or hav a run in the playoffs

let's just say PENS will win this one.

my prediction was: the team who wins two in a row will win the Cup. Since that just happened, Detroit will win. But I rrreeeeaaallllyy want Pittsburgh to win
