No, I am not even in Linguistic. I provided you that review just to show you that he got one bad review and you therefore should be cautious. From my understand, nobody will give a professor a bad review (blue frowny face)unless he/ she genuinely sucks.

Actually, people give good professors bad reviews all the time. They're usually just bitter because they got a bad mark in one of the prof's classes.

I would argue that we university students have an unspoke code of honor that prohibit us from saying anything bad about good professors. It is because, deep down, it is very hard for us to say anything bad about a professor that is absolutely good. I actually gave good review to a professor that gave me a B because I can not deny how good he is.

So far, I have given review for over 15 professors and I have only slammed one professor. I slammed this professor because he is very unprofessional, he is underqualified, his marking is very arbitary, also his marking criteria is very unstandardized, finally it appears that he encourages plagarism.

I dunno so much with that statement because I believe that if one gets a bad mark they are more likely to try and justify it by saying the teacher did something horrible ie gives too much work, their work is too hard, their tests relate to nothing et cetera, instead of accepting the fact that they didn't study well enough or something.

I have seen this happen a few times with comp sci profs.

    Back to you, kikicoco1...

Have you try talking to other Linguistics students, maybe they got better info than us.

Judging by the amount (or lack thereof) of review, I am guess this Professor. Clifford Burgess is relatively new, or maybe not...

I accept the fact that I "didn't study well enough or something" when I got a C+ for ARCH 131. I have been kicking myself for it to this day.

I guess I am one of a kind...

Now, back to Clifford Burgess and Linguistics...
