Best Place for a Date

edited February 2007 in General
I think the best place to go on a date is somewhere low key. I mean, to me it's more fun to grab a burger and hang out somewhere where you can really talk than to mess with the big get all dressed up for a nice dinner, worry about the check, and then sit through a movie where you can't really talk anyway.

Oh yeah, definetly. A burger, maybe a stroll through a store - or for me, a bookstore.
The whole 'dinner and a movie' thing doesn't work for the first few dates though - till you really hit some similar interests and can discuss the movie afterwards.

I think a casual date is nice but not as a steady diet. I enjoy getting dressed up and doing something special and I love discussing the movie afterward. Other times, it's nice to stay in together and sometimes it's fun to be with friends. For me, spending time together doing different things works well. Being together, rather than talk, is my goal.

yea movies can get kinda boring, esp in the summer when its so nice out i think a good place to go on a date would be like grab some ice cream and walk around the beach and jus hang out and grab some dinner after when suns settin, or even plan a lil barbeque for the two of u that way u got lots of chances to talk n enjoy eachothers company

i personally find it boring discussing a movie for longer then 5 minutes.

although i do like the whole dinner and a movie thing for other reasons!! i mean its the total package... good conversations over dinner and then an excuse to cuddle during the movie:tongue:

my first post here so here goes...

if you live on campus and havent had a chance to take a look around... perhaps an evening picnic is in mind? now adays its a bit chilly at night but if the weather picks up then why not go sit on the grass?

a short walk from the res area will take you to the horizon's restaurant area. there is plenty of grass and at night the view is spectacular because you can see all the lights of vancouver.

a nice bottle of wine, and perhaps try cooking something? im sure even the fact that you took time to make grilled cheese or pb&j will be taken in a thoughtful way.. or if you like to cook you can let your imagination go wild =)

after you finish eating you can just sit there the rest of the evening enjoying the view and having a chance to talk. if it gets cold it offers you a chance to be "chivalrus" and offer her your jacket?

at the end of the evening you can offer to chaperone her to the bus stop or drive her back home or even escort her back to her dorm? im sure u'll be rewarded with a good night kiss... (right ladies?)

    cheers ^^

Back to the topic, the perfect date for me would be play at an amusement park and a quiet dinner with a romantic movie afterwards.

i find that watching a movie is so cliche.. but the thing i like about it is that there won't be awkward silences, cuz silence is encouraged in a movie!
