My favorite stocks

edited March 2008 in General
If you could pick any three stocks to invest in right now (if you had the cash) which would you choose?

I would go for

1. apple (continuously innovative and standard setting technology)
2. google (they are going to run the world)
3. kraft (warren buffet just invested in kraft and he's never wrong)

In terms of what I have now, the two I think that have best potential are:
TIM (TSE) - Long term growth opportunity: supplier for solar companies as well
NBG (NYSE) - Exposure to Eastern Europe

Stocks I would like to buy if I had the cash:
BHP or RTP (NYSE) - Largest natural resource suppliers
NOK (NYSE) - Excellent mobile offerings for this year it seems
EWM (NYSE) - For emerging markets, Malaysia has good prospects and has been doing well despite the US downturn

Most of my portfolio consists of ETFs (index funds), but as you can see, I'm more of a higher risk type of investor considering my age, hence the heavy global exposure.

this is hardly the environment to be buying unless u got the stomach for volatility and have a pretty long time horizon

i use questrade to trade, its pretty limited tho, but has cheap commissions
i want to switch over to interactive brokers, much more day trading friendly

I've got some money invested with AGF.. some common sense (segregated) fund...asset builder. Mostly invested in various banks I think. Fairly balanced portfolio, but a bit aggressive.

Kind of regretting doing that though...might want that money to buy a place soon. Oh well.. I guess I've got strike it rich soon then.
