Who is or was your favorite teacher at SFU?

edited February 2008 in General
I miss martin bouchard from last term in crim 131

Young, cute, french accent

Now I got some weird old white guys, it just isnt the same, during 131 I would just stare at him the entire time enthralled

As far as profs go anyway he was pretty decent looking

I hate everybody because I hate having my heart broke when my favorite profs gives me a B+.

So far I have only had him for a little while, but, Toby Donaldson (for CMPT125) seems pretty awesome :D
Of course, I am only in my second semester and have not experienced many great teachers or anything yet

The best prof I've had so far is Scott Uzelman for CMNS 221. His lectures are never boring... I never had to struggle to pay attention, which is amazing for me. PLUS instead of making us get a CCW, he personally photocopied all the readings for us for only $20... how awesome is that?

Although despite how great of a prof he was I only got a B in that class =(

I once had a prof who photocopied all the material we needed, provided all lecture notes, and didnt make us buy any texts, one of the coolest ever, was a philosophy teacher

Alain Duncan - accounting guy. Funny, smart and cares about students. Had him once and I wish he was teaching more courses.

Barry Cartwright - CRIM 101, CRIM 131 and etc ...

Cartwright was really easy and a pretty cool guy, but he wasn't exactly the best teacher... all I did in CRIM 131 was scramble to write everything down. I remember the essay question on the final was to summarize a movie we watched in class (Rebel Without a Cause)... we had to recall the names of the characters and stuff. While it was easy marks, I thought it was pretty pointless.

Whoa, are you in my class? I have the same prof. and I'm also in my second semester.

Toby seems interesting, but jokes a lot about deaths and insulins for some reasons.

Also, James Phillips from my Tech114. Really awesome guy, but stutters a lot.
