New to B.C.

edited October 2006 in General
Hi I'm Christina. =) I just moved to B.C. over the summer from Calgary? Anyone else came from Calgary or Alberta?

What's there to do here in Vancouver anyway? Any places to have fun or good places to eat anyone can recommend?

I have relatives in Calgary. That almost counts...
Places to have fun? My room. Bring your own pot.

    that's not very inviting.

hm if richmond, everything along the infamous 3 road, from pool halls to all kinds of restaurants and the richmond centre mall along with lansdowne for ' caucasian ' malls and aberdeen/parker place for the asian stores.

I grew up in Calgary, but I've been here since I was 10.

Send me a note if you want to hang out sometime and I'll show you some neat places I know about!

Downtown as alot of good places to eat. Just stroll down Robson and I'm sure you can find sumthing there. One of my favorite places on Robson are the hotdog stands haha.. its cheap but it fills you up with unlimited condiments!! Ohh there is a new hotdog stand that I discovered recently on Burrard.. they have some unique hotdog combinations. There is this realllly good one called "Japadog" and its just basically a beef hotdog with teriyaki sauce and seaweed.. its really good.. it sounds weird but u should go try it. Lumiere on West Broadway (I think) is a great place to eat too.. thats if you have lots of money! The head chef of Lumiere was on Iron Chef America before and he won.. haha so his food MUST be good. Right beside Lumiere is Feenies.. its cheaper and the food is great as well.. just not as high class as Lumiere but still very very good. Oh and it is owned by the same Chef =) Chef Rob Feenie.

Also, you could go to Richmond for some good chinese food.. All you can eat japanese restaurants its a big thing in Vancouver..so you should really try the sushi and the seafood around here. If you are looking for a good all you can eat japanese food restaurant, i suggest "Fish On Rice" which is in Burnaby beside Metrotown. And "Aji Taro" (i think) in Richmond on Number 3 Road. Those two, in my opinion, are the best all you can eat japanese places around. Shabusen is good too..but make sure you go to the Granville one.. there is one on Burrard too, but from my past experiences Granville is way better cuz you get much better quality food than the one in Burrard. Quality as in the freshness of the food and such..

Anyways, have fun!! There are alot more restaurants I haven't mentioned but the ones I have mentioned are few of my favorites!
