    LOL good luck!

I got 38% on the BUS 251 midterm, but that was with actually reading some of the textbook! (I actually read quite a bit of the textbook, but understood very little of it, lol).

But i suck at numbers and math and all that jazz, so that prolly played a big role in why i did so badly.

I dont remember what was on the midterm, all i remember thinking was, "well, this sucks."

Who's your prof for BUS 251? As with most courses, the exam style really depends on the prof...

I had Anne Macdonald. I got a pretty good grade in that class, and I studied by memorizing key concepts (e.g. matching principle, basic accounting equation, characteristics of good financial information, etc.), but I think it's most important to do as many practice questions as you can, especially the practical ones. I know it's really frustrating sometimes because the problems are long and complicated, but it really does help you get the feel of what's going to be on the exam. If your instructor posts practice questions/quizzes on a website (WileyPlus, etc.) MAKE SURE YOU DO THEM! It really helped me out. If you still have trouble, you can always talk to your TA.

Hope I helped! And good luck =)

That's some great advice, flo-ra! Since you quit your job to study for your exams, you obviously have your priorities straight. As soon as you are organized and ready to study, make a quick list of chapters/concepts you want to cover and on what days you want to cover them. Stay calm and stick to the script and you'll do fine...it's all about hard work.

I had Gibson for 251 and we had a LOT of stuff to do on WILEY. Make sure you do those and related questions, because they WILL ask those ones. I'm taking 232 right now, are you with G. Zhang?

Yea i have Gibson and Zhang. I've been doing the assignment for Buec 232 and the midterm is still a week away so that should be okay. Im tryin to get updated on wiley and lecture notes, got all day tom and wed. morning. Multiple choice should be fine but im worried about the essay and technical questions.

I think the first midterm they ask you to do balance sheets and journal entries... i actually think i still have mine
    *runs to find*
    Mine was out of 110.
    Technical questions
    Accounting cycle: journal entries.
(make sure you write an explanation, or he'll take of 10 marks, even if he didn't say to write an explanation)
    -adjusting entries and closing entries
Balance sheet + net income and RE
Then there's 2 essay questions, and 40 MC questions...

The essay questions are easy to BS harhar...

Anyway, if you do Wiley (all by yourself no cheating!), I'm sure you'll do fine~

Yea thanks for the info. So I had the midterm and it wasn't that bad, funny thing is I started understading the stuff couple of hours before the exam so hopefully I got a decent grade. Howz studying goin for Buec 232, ive only looked at assignments and practice exam. Not really sure how important the suggested practice problems are.

Well, studying is pretty good i guess. I love the cheat sheet, it's a lifesaver, don't hafta memorize as much. The assignments and review questions help a lot so I'm doing all of them

buec test was not too bad, except the last question to which I had no clue. the ta told me that the final would be hard if the midterm was easy, so im not really looking forward to that.

Which TA said that, Ocho? The stuff in the remaining sections isn't too terrible.. its stringing it all together into one giant problem that's really going to mess us up.
