Changing faculty? and review (?) my courses please =D

hmm
edited August 2007 in General
I was admitted into computing science, but now I'm not so sure what I want to do. Would it be possible to change it? Hmm.. I'm interested in human biology, like learning about digestive, circulatory systems etc.. . Should I be taking kinesiology or health science courses?
But I also like criminology and maybe a bit of psyc...

Any advices, comments would be great =)

yes it is possible to change faculties so long as you meet the requirements and the minimum gpa.. most departments have a number of lower division courses they require you to take.. so go talk with an advisor or visit the website to see what those are and see how you like it..

have fun in your first year.. =)

dont be too concerned now, just take whatever interest u and focus on doin good, faculty switching isnt a big deal, just have to apply and as long as the requirements are there you should be fine

That is actually a very light load for first year. Not only do you have three classes, but they are very basic material. The best way to find out what faculty you should be in is to take a few classes "for fun." Sure, it'll cost you some time and money, but in the long term at least you can figure out what you want to spend your next 4 years on.

    Mmm.. uh oh.
But now, most of the classes are closed or don't fit my schedule.

Hmm, i have a question. If I wanted to change my lab time.. would it be possible even though the one I want to change to is closed? (as I already had a spot before?)... probably not, right?

It's not a for sure thing, but it does happen. For example, if you talk to the prof during the first couple of weeks of school they will try to accommodate you during a different time slot if you have a good reason for wanting to switch. Or, if there is someone else looking to switch into your lab, then its easy to trade with them as well. Depends on the circumstances, but never hurts to try!

So, I can't change it on website - gosfu? (I was trying it out on 'edit classes' but backed out, as I'm kinda afraid I'll lose a spot on my original lab time)

If I can change the lab time, I can fit in the other course I had in mind.. if it hadn't closed already

    Thanks for the help =)

If the one you want to change to is closed, then goSFU won't let you in. Thats what closed means! If theres room though, it is easy to swap classes on gosfu.
