The key to immortality

edited July 2007 in General
I know this is pretty out there, but if immortality was acheivable, what would it lead from. I think regeneration and immortality go hand in hand. Hydra (Cnidarians) can eternally regenerate, thus live forever. Although we'd then theoretically have a dynamic form, it would possibly allow us to live forever...any thoughts on immortality?

hmm.. interesting.. i never thought about regeneration and immortality to go hand in hand.. i always had the notion that immortals were.. "non-living" even though they walk and talk just like the rest of us.. and thus i never thought they need to regenerate because they would just stay at that phase.. but perhaps it's because i've always associated immortality with the undead.. and the undeads don't need to regenerate because they're basically.. dead..

nevertheless.. if you had a choice.. would you or anyone else here pursue the life of immortality? =)
