Do SFU Credits "Expire"?

Just wondering how long SFU credits will stay on file for? I'm considering taking a year or two off if my PDP application is not accepted in January, and going to teach English in Thailand (or Japan) then returning to SFU to finish off my Bachelors. But I don't really want to waste all the time, effort and money I put into these credits!

Any ideas? I tried looking on the website but couldn't find any info.

I can't imagine that they do. If you're gone for 2 years, your enrollment will expire, which means you have to do some paperwork to re-activate your enrollment with the school when you want to take courses again, but the credits themselves expire? No way. What would be their justification?

Okay, so maybe the question is: Will they let me reapply without a huuuge hassle?

I know you can take 3 semesters off with no problem. Any longer than that and you would have to re-apply for admission but your credits would remain active nonetheless, meaning if you didn't get into sfu you could transfer your credits to another school. I can't picture them making it too difficult since I know a lot of college students who transfer here with somewhat low gpas after they are done their first two years.

There's people at SFU with student numbers starting with 79 (which means they first came in 1979), so they do keep all the old records on file. :)

hmm...but my student number starts with 30....and i started at sfu in 2005...is there any possible way to justify that?? anyone knows by any chance?

They changed the numbering system at some point in the last few years. It's not as simple as it used to be,unfortunately. :)
