Origin of life anyone?

edited July 2007 in General
Ever wonder where life came from and why? This evolution class is really making me wonder...

The earth used to be glacial and cold at one point (when wooly mammoths were around)... then it became warmer at some time (temperate). And they say people came from Africa, so that means that the environment there must have been the first to foster the ideal conditions (first to have the ideal temperature and required resources). hmm what else

Because people come from what we now think of as Africa does not imply that all life comes from there.

A lot of people forget about continental drift and the Pangaea megacontinent, as well as the fact that organic life evolved in water literally a billion years before any land-based life-forms evolved.
