A good beer?

edited February 2007 in General
Sadly, the only beers I know by name are Bud and Miller and the like. Can someone recommend me a common good beer (something easy to find, in other words)? I hear Beck's is worth trying...

I favor ale over lager (in general), and the stronger in terms of taste/body/so forth the better, but alcohol content doesn't matter. Thanks

Does anyone else drink beer in the afternoon besides me? Today I had KFC and beer for lunch.

In my opinion, European beer is better than American or Canadian beer. It's a lot thicker and has more flavor. The beer here is too carbonated. The best beer I've had is Boddingtons, it's gold and creamy, they used to have it at the school pub.
