Anyone has taken CRIM380 with Richard Frank?

What was his midterm like? I know there are T/F, multiple choice and short answers. Short answers are what I'm the most worried about.

Are his questions really straight from his ppt? How useful is the textbook and readings on the midterm?

Anyone got an A on the midterm? How did you get an A?

  • Memorize the information on his powerpoint slides. One good way of knowing that you are quite ready is that you should be confident enough to be able to take a cybercrime scenario and use the terms and definitions from his slides, and identify them in and apply them to a cybercrime that has been described.

Memorizing the information on his slides will help you with T/F, MC and short answers. However, you must also be able to truly understand how certain things work and are able to explain it, even if just in layman's terms, such as how data is sent and received through the internet for example.

As with most courses, the textbook and readings are good supplementary material to assist in your understanding. However, if you aren't well-versed with the content on his slides, yet have other information from the textbook and readings, that obviously wouldn't help you much if his exams are based on his lectures.
  • Thank you. That was very helpful :)
