Old busses on 144 route.

edited October 2016 in General
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering why the older busses are appearing on the 144 route? There are obvious hypotheses for this, but is there any official statement from TransLink or anything? Not a complaint at all, just an intriguing observation and am curious and interested in our transit system.

Obviously, the seats are squishier on these busses.

  • Its based on the size of the bus. The 144 doesn't require electrical lines, so many of the newer buses are out of the question. Also, like I said, the size. They average out ridership numbers and designate specific buses accordingly. That old bus fits the criteria for the amount of people projected to use that route. The bus, as far as i know, is one of the smaller ones.

    Cheers
